Showing Up: For Myself. For My Patients.

What’s something you’ve done that your past self would be proud of?

There have been times in my life where it has been hard to show up, take the next step, do the next right thing. Times when it would have been far, far easier to throw in the towel and call it quits.

A friend of mine, many years ago, kept telling me to just keep it in the day, do the next right thing, and let go of the results.

It’s been 14 (!) years since my ex-husband and I split up, which ended up in a fairly amicable divorce. But there were days, especially early on, where it felt like too much.

If my past self could see future (a.k.a. present :P) me, I think she would be proud. In a couple of months, I’ll have my BSN, which I got while working full-time as an oncology RN, which I obtained while working full-time in a hospital pharmacy throughout a pandemic.

It has been quite an experience. There have been many ups and downs. But I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I sincerely hope that you have a pleasant Saturday, and have time to do something nice for yourself and not just catch up on chores/do laundry/grocery shop. I’m going to be hopping on a plane soon, where I am going to stop thinking about work. If you like what I write, please subscribe! Thank you. 🙂

I hopped on a free yoga class with friends before work. Life can get really tough but when your goal is just to show up, somehow, that’s a great step already.
