Do you set personal goals for yourself?

I love setting goals. I do it at the beginning of the year and check in pretty much monthly. And mid-month. Also weekly. You get the idea.
One of my goals was to finish my RN to BSN program this year and I am 5 assignments away from being done! (And also $700 for that last tuition payment lol). The end is in sight. I can’t believe it because it seemed so long ago that I started, and like that degree was so far away.
Another goal of mine was to finish this book I bought by Ursula K. LeGuin called Always Coming Home. It’s a post-apocalyptic type novel but is full of poetry, language, and stories from the people inhabiting the land.
I’m struggling with this one, I must say.
There are other goals I had too, but then, as it sometimes happens, life and (more accurately) my landlord had other plans. Through no fault of our own, we are being ousted so the owner can do other things with the property, and we have a month or so to gather our things and vacate.
Now if you’ve ever looked for a place to live, you know it can be, well, somewhat time-consuming and costly. Time-consuming, especially.
So we’ve started looking. I’m looking for the silver lining. Praying a lot. Doing the leg work and letting go of the rest.
Will I finish that book this year? Yeah. I’ll squeeze in time for that! After all, we still have two whole months left in 2026. But also, more imminently, I will be moving. 🙂
What are you planning on doing with what’s left of this year?
Thank you for reading on this lovely Sunday eve. I hope that if you are a renter, your landlord lets you stay as long as you wish. It’s fall where I live, which means lots of colorful leaves and windy days. If you have any moving tips, feel free to drop a comment! If you like what I write, please subscribe. Thanks! 🙂
