I love to go on trips.
I’ll travel to places under an hour away, or take longer trips requiring some planning and flights. What’s interesting though is how a trip to the same place can feel vastly different on a separate occasion.
For example:
A trip to a beach destination out of the country completely sober versus that same trip with vacation-levels of alcohol. I loved both trips, don’t get me wrong. But they each had a vastly different feel to them! Was one trip more fun than the other? Eh, not really. I had a blast both times. Did I have more “exciting” stories to tell from one trip compared to the other? Probably. And I don’t need to tell you which one. But the quieter trip was more relaxing and was so needed. I played an epic game of foosball with my sister that had us laughing so hard I lost my voice.
Anyway. My top destinations so far (some specific, some more general. And also keep in mind that there are a ton of places I haven’t been yet!):
- Switzerland- I stayed there for ten days or so on a trip many years ago and loved it so much that this is my top destination for the next time I’m in Europe. The air was so clean, the mountains are insanely gorgeous. The towns are beautiful. I can’t recommend this one enough.
- Florida- Orlando is a lot of fun and has some great restaurants. I had some amazing pho with my family on a sweltering day which was so delicious even though we were boiling. Some super cute shops, too. Interesting book stores. Great coffee shops. And then there’s Disney.
- Disney- So things have changed quite a bit since I was there with my high school band lol. But Epcot is my favorite place to go. I love to try different foods from shops all around the world. Like these:

And then there’s these shaved ice cups that you can get with a little condensed milk:

And then there’s this pizza, which, you really can’t tell from this photo but this was HUGE:

Back to the list:
4. Bar Harbor- if you love the ocean and you love the mountains, this is the place for you. Also it doesn’t hurt to love lobster. They even have lobster ice cream! (no, I did not get it but my boyfriend did lol).
5. Niagara Falls- Canada’s side lol. It was so gorgeous. I’ve only been there once but I would love to go again and I’ve heard that it is beautiful in the winter!
6. NYC- Is so much fun if you love the city. There is always so much to do and I never get tired of going to book stores and finding a museum to hang out in for a few hours. I mean, Kinokuniya! Just love it.
7. Rehoboth Beach, Delaware- I’ve been going there since I was a little kid. Took a break for many years but have been heading back again. Such a fun beach town with a great bookstore!
8. State parks- You get so much bang for your buck. I like camping, staying in cabins, and hiking. And you can’t go wrong with a campfire.
9. Mexico- I’ve only been there a couple times, and stayed at a beach resort. Some of my favorite times were exploring the nearby town though.
10. My hometown- I will never get tired of walking through town, stopping at my local bookshop, and stopping for a coffee. I just love it. 🙂
