I don’t know that there’s a lot of words that annoy me at the moment. Maybe I just stay away from the ones that do? However, after spending this past week in the middle of the woods with my boyfriend, I can definitely tell you words/phrases that annoy him including:

“Off the hook”

I don’t know why or when I started using this phrase so much. Probably because of work. I work with people old enough to be my kids lol. And younger.

Ex: “That spider was off the hook!”

“Dude”

I use this one all the time. For some reason, it bugs him. Probably because middle-age white women don’t use it. Who knows.

Ex: “Can’t help it, dude.”

“Mansplain”

I don’t know why that one irritates him so much. But it does. Actually, I haven’t used it in a while. Might be time to test the waters again.

Ex: “You don’t need to mansplain how to make a fire.” (I didn’t actually say this, btw).
