How do you write what people actually want to read?

“Write what you know.”
“Write what you want to read.”
“Write to solve a problem.”
“Just write!”
When it comes to writing what people actually want to read, there is quite a bit of variety. One can consider their audience. Their skillset. The needs of the day.
But ultimately a writer just needs to write. Something I try to keep in mind is what is actually sustainable? What can I sit and write about week after week after week? Because I need to be able to keep showing up.
Right now I have a little post-it pad on my desk. I rotate through little inspirational phrases. Right now it says- “No excuses.” It’s my little reminder to keep plugging away at it. To keep showing up.
Write whatever you want. People will read it or they won’t. And don’t forget- just because someone doesn’t want to read it today, people may feel very different weeks/months/years from now.
Just write. Put it out there. Repeat.
Thanks for reading today. I hope you are as happy that it’s Thursday as I am. And if you like what I write, please subscribe. Thanks!
