“What is the last thing you learned?”
I am always learning something new. Three lessons come to mind from this past week:
There’s life lessons. This week I learned that Target’s gummi bears are not bad except for the very pale ones which taste exactly like soap, which is unsettling. I don’t think I’ve ever actually spit a gummi bear out before this week. The texture is similar to Haribo, so if you’re going for soft gummies, avoid Target’s. I’ve also been listening to the BBC’s Radio Drama Collection of Terri Pratchett’s Discworld series. (I got it on my Libro app, which is my favorite audiobook app these days aside from Libby.) Anyway, I love it. Lessons learned- don’t buy Target’s gummi bears; buy Terri Pratchett’s books.
Work lessons. At work this week I learned about “fishbane reactions” which is something that happens when someone is receiving an iron infusion. While we used to use IV benadryl for those reactions, it is no longer recommended that we do so as it can worsen the reaction. Lesson learned- no more benadryl for iron reactions.
School lessons. This week in school I learned more about user interface and the cognitive science behind nursing. It’s one of those topics I haven’t really thought about before- the science of how nurses think, and the relationship between human cognition and computers and how we interact. Lesson learned- there’s a lot more to nursing than I thought.
Technically that’s four lessons. But sums up some of the things I learned this week. How about you? Have you ever had Target gummies? Lol did I just get a bad batch???
