Kinda Stitious or, What I’ve Learned Working in Healthcare

Daily writing prompt
Are you superstitious?

“Are you superstitious?”

You may have heard of those superstitious sayings like:

Don’t walk under a ladder (common sense to me), if a black cat crosses your path it’s bad luck (I mean I like cats), see a penny let it lay, you’ll have bad luck all that day (also you won’t have the penny), step on a crack, break your mother’s back (a childhood fave).

I never thought of myself as superstitious. Not really. Then I started working in healthcare. Now I’ve learned there’s certain things you don’t say. Otherwise, you are straight up jinxing yourself and your coworkers.

It’s quiet. Listen. Just don’t do it, okay? Things can happen any time of the day, right up to and including the moment you are trying to get out the door. So just don’t do it.

Things happen in threes. I dunno. Seems accurate to me.

The full moon effect. There is something about the pull of the moon. Is it shifting the fluid in people’s brains? Probably.

So while I don’t consider myself superstitious, am I “kinda” stitious? Absolutely! ๐Ÿ˜€
