Kids

The two people that come to mind when I think of family members are my kids. They are two of my favorite people to hang out with, and I’m lucky they still do want to hang out, as they are in their late (?!) twenties. They are compassionate people, and it has been humbling to watch them grow up over the years, becoming their own people. One loves crocheting and knitting. One is into music.

They share an apartment, and last year they rescued a couple stray kittens from their mama cat. One of the kittens was sick, and they probably would not have survived the harsh winter season in the city. This was while caring for their geriatric cat, Midnight.

They kept the kittens separate from Midnight, got them to the vet, and cared for them until they placed them with a rescue group. It’s interesting to watch your kids from the sidelines, following their hearts and doing a good thing.

Earlier this year they had to put their cat down. Our family dog, who lived with their dad, had to be put down last month as well.

The loss of pets can be difficult.

Recently, they felt ready to get another cat and brought home an adorable kitten who is about four months old.

Meet Macka.
