This week, we’re going to explore coffee. I will be the first to admit how much I love and, well, kinda need coffee these days. Usually I try to keep it to the morning, which I highly recommend for anyone with sleeping issues especially.
Depending on what goes into it, coffee may be more or less healthy. For instance, if you put a lot of cream and sugar in your coffee, the fat, sugar, and overall calorie count will go up. A cup of black coffee has negligible calories. A fancy coffee drink with whipped topping on top can easily run around 400 calories. Think balance with these types of drinks- once a week is probably okay. Once a day is probably too much.
The cost can also be prohibitive. Making your own coffee at home is cost-effective and healthier in that it’s easier to control what goes into it. There are many sugar-free syrup flavoring options which can keep the sugar out of it.

Decaffeinated coffee can be a good option for anyone watching their caffeine intake who would still like to indulge in a cup of joe.
Thursday will be all about chagaccino- stay tuned!
